I think he warged into Ghost. Ghost will then ride the dragon buried in the wall to defeat the walkers.

unfortunately, just isn't really possible for Ice to be the original Lightbringer.
I agree completely. My theory has nothing to do with Ice being the original LB. I Think Once It Is re-forged, It will become the new incarnation of LB.
I have a theory that Ice could be the original Landis ter sword, Brightroar, as it was lost long before Ice came into Starks possession. Not stolen, but acquired honestly. Hence, Tywin reclaimed what should be his anyway.

One of the biggest points made in TP&TQ is the fact that dragons, even grown ones, can be broken without magic. It's like Martin telling us there are more out there growing all this time. IMO.
I think that any new dragon eggs are irrelevant to the upcoming conflict - not enough time to hatch n grow.

has there been any confirmation that he's actually dead?
GRRM was questioned about Jon Snow's death and his response was something along the lines of "so you think he's dead?"
So, yeah, Jon Targ is still alive.

i distinctly remember reading that which is why I asked the question...I don't think he's dead.

I don't think he's dead either.

GRRM made a similar comment about Aegon a few years ago when asked if he was dead. He responded with something along the lines of "his sister was definitely murdered, but I'm not commenting on Aegon".
It's one of the reasons that I think Aegon is the true Aegon Targ VI.
ETA:
There are basically Targ heirs littered all around Westeros. You have to kick them out of the way when walking around...

Darkstar is a Targ descendant, IMO. Silver hair, dark purple eyes....in the middle of Dorne. Come on.

I think Aegon is the true Aegon also. I don't think he's a fake at all. Everybody is waiting on that twist but I believe the twist was that he is still alive

If this were true, and I think it might be, how would he prove it to anyone? Wouldn't countless people that were there at the end of the rebellion testify that they witnessed the mountain killing the children?

But he's a Dayne; didn't Ashara Dayne have purple eyes/that a lot of Daynes do?
FWIW I like the theory that Darkstar is a bastard of Oberyn's.

Darkstar has been mentioned twice...wait for it...

The only way that really matters - with a big, bad arse army.
Even if Aegon provides the realm with eyewitness testimony, which he can in the form of Varys, he will still have detractors. Stannis would still call him pretender. And House Baratheon will need to be defeated in war anyway.

I think Aegon is Jon Snow's parallel character...both were protected and raised by other men than their fathers...both had mothers die in childbirth or around that time...both were the center of promises made to the mother...Ned to protect Lyanna's son and Varys to put Serra's on the throne...One was hidden so he could be protected from the crown...the other so he could eventually claim it...both took the command at early battles in their lives...Jon with the Battle at Castle Black and Aegon with Storm's End. Both were advised by Tyrion at some point...and that's just off the top of my head.

I'm sticking with the theory that Aegon is a Blackfyre, BUT I did notice this on my re-read of ASOS that I missed before:
"Elia of Dorne", they all heard Ser Gregor say when they were close enough to kiss. His deep voice boomed within the helm. "I killed her screaming whelp"..."THEN I raped her."
"Whelp", singular.
