That would be pretty amazing. I just don't think Jon would craft his story off of Bael the Bard as much as Mance would/did. Abel=Bael rearranged, musician, possibly in crypts, etc. And I don't know if Jon would be able to have as powerful a command over the spearwives.

I didn't say that coldhands isn't a former man of the nights watch. That doesn't mean its Benjen.
Bloodraven also said (or was it one of the children? I can't remember) that "they killed him many years ago". At that point Benjen had only been missing for a year maybe two... that isn't "many years" to a race that lives for hundreds maybe thousands of years.

Abel is seen playing and singing at least once at Winterfell. As far as we know Jon can't do either with even a passing ability.
However I wonder if Jon could possibly be the Hooded Man? Thats something that deserves to be looked further into. Would also explain why the Jon who got stabbed refused to keep ghost with him.

True. It's also said the singing isn't too good
Yep the ghost thing is what really makes me wonder, cause he's never around towards the end.
I'll just keep with random questions. Is Jaqen now Pate? Did he kill Euron?

Its written off that the queen is scared of him but who knows what GRRM has planned.

Indeed

You mean Balon? If so I don't know if it was Jaqen or not but it was definitely a faceless man. One could assume Jaqen I guess

yep
So Brienne said sword at the end. Hopefully Podrick didn't die. Is the UnCat gonna redeem something or just eff stuff up?

Yeah, early descriptions of Mance said that he could play instruments and sing like a bird. There was mystery as to who Abel was for a while, and when he was revealed as Mance, I think the mystery was played out for GRRM. I also don't think Jon was the Hooded Man. I think that will turn up to be someone from another House who is loyal to Stark. Somebody who has visited Winterfell, and thus, knows Theon.

I don't seriously think its Jon either. It just might be a theory thats worth a deeper look

Not that anything is ever as it seems with GRRM, but I just figured Ghost was locked in Jon's quarters due to that other Warg/Boar being there.
ETA: This is one hell of a thread/conversation

Podrick is still alive per GRRM, Brienne said "sword" or something to where she pretty much said she would obey UnCat and they cut the rope from Pod. Good thing, I really like Pod. Really, he's one of the only clear cut, "good" characters you see around in GRRM's world.

Thats my favorite part about GRRM. He writes about actual people instead of infallible heroes.

You're right, and that's why I cheer for Jaime

Yes it is. I had no idea it would carry on this long.

The single best character development I've ever read

I really hope the actor can make the turn around for Jamie as good as it was in the books. Supposedly HBO and the producers love him.

Hes been pretty great so far. I have faith in him.

Yes. I never "hated" Jaime, but certainly didn't like him towards the beginning. Now he is, without a doubt, one of my favorites. He has really grown a heart, since getting away from King's Landing and his heartless (other than Tyrion) family. I also became a big fan of Ser Kevan, but alas...

Jamie & Stannis are my two favorite characters, love them in the show as well.
Ser Kevan grew on me after Tywin died. Him revealing to Cersei that he knew her secret was awesome. "I suspect his father is too."
You could tell it pained Varys to do what he did but it was necessary for Aegon and really the realm.

I really don't buy Jon being anyone but the person stabbed at the wall. GRRM has done some slightly misleading narration before, but this would be over the top. Maybe the last Jon chapter had some subtle hints that it was another person's thoughts, but I haven't noticed.
