It makes me worry that a lot of people are going to put off watching the show in anticipation of the book coming out before 2017. Thus leading to declining viewers and HBO doing the Deadwood costs cancelation.

It takes a special kind of fan to really believe what you posted.

Pretty much all the big dogs have some. I remember when the Star Wars expanded universe freaks swore up-and-down that the movie would fail when Disney said EU wouldn't be canon.

Keep on keepin on

Meh. I don't see how you blame HBO in this when they have to remain confined to a budget (see how that didn't work out for Rome or Deadwood), actors aging out of roles/taking other conflicting jobs, etc. And given that there were non-book people who bitched about it dragging at times, they have two totally different watchers to appease.

GRRM has had 5 seasons plus any time before the first season was rolled out to catch up.

It's not hard to believe when it comes to HBO. If a show is not bringing in more viewers every year with a balooning budget. HBO will end it, like Deadwood, it won't let it drag on for a few years like big bang theory etc.

I can pretty much guarantee that the show will have a large enough audience that HBO won't consider canceling it before it's over.

That I like it? Haven't been in the thread in quite a few days. I just enjoyed it and it was everything I was hoping it would be. Doubt I'll see it again before in comes to Bluray. You just seem to want to shite on everyone's enthusiasm and ruin the vibe on any thread you enter. At least this thread is pessimistic.

I don't think he'll finish the series either.

He has zero motivation and just doesn't give a shite anymore. I wish he'd let another author take the reins, but George seems too selfish for that to happen. I doubt he'd be like Robert Jordan and leave notes behind for another author to expand upon.

I think the universe he created is simply too large to tie up in two books, and he knows it. Probably realizes there's no point in writing himself to exhaustion for years to try either.

Your knighting for the movie is incredible. As I said before, I seriously think you might be on retainer from Disney.

Why do you get to write post after post arguing against every critic but the people who didn't like it should not be allowed to?

He needs to rapidly murder characters. In my opinion, these should be the only POV surviving characters by ADOS:

Tyrion
Jaime
Sansa
Arya
Bran
Dany
Jon
Davos
Arianne
Samwell

Make it simple again. Just have it focused on these characters, and maybe Cersei if she's somehow still alive.

They might not pull the Deadwood treatment again, but if it got too big for it's britches HBO hasn't been afraid to force an early, rushed exit.

Boardwalk Empire is a good example of that.

Do us a favor and take the Disney/Star Wars argument elsewhere. I'd hate to see this dragged out in here where we don't have to wade through that bullshite.

Apples and Oranges Belle. GOT is and will continue to be just fine. No matter how many book readers stop watching.

GRRM is astonished by fan support over missed Game of Thrones deadline

And in a shocking turn of events, we now have a picture of the "Not a Blog" Moderator:

Hes been struggling to get to his end game ever since Storm of Swords came out.

I think his main issue was getting the dragons big enough to wreck shite which is why Dany sat and twiddled her thumbs over in Esseos. Initially he wrote Feast for Crows taking place a few years after Storm of Swords

Now I think he just doesn't give a frick with the TV show beating him to the finish and everybody knowing who Jon's parents are.

The whole "these books are long and take time to write" is bullshite. Yea they are difficult and time consuming but plenty of authors are able to release these types of books in a timely manner. Martin himself was able to with the first three books.

Hes just dead set on finishing with his original ending but can't figure out a way that makes sense for all the pieces to get there.
