Fourth and Long Gone

This is a comical novel by Pepper Rogers and is very well written. Fun read.

I really like John Grisham's Playing for Pizza.

It's about an older football player who can't find work in NFL and ends up playing in Italy. Very good and relatively short book.

I just told my wife yesterday that this was the best sports book I’ve ever read. I enjoyed it so much that, when I was done with it, I immediately started back on page one and re-read it. Only time I’ve ever done that.

Don't pick up The Sixth Man by Andre Iguodala. I couldn't get past chapter 3 with the woe is me plight of the black man, white man bad talk. I returned book. Was a fan of his before reading the book. Changed by chapter 3.

Friday Night Lights is an amazing book, and the background for the movie and TV show.

Yep.

Favorite autobiography was Bo Knows Bo. Co-authored by my man Dick Schaap. Extremely good read.

Feinstein has quite a few books that I think are good.

Civil War
The Last Amateurs
Let Me Tell You A Story
Next Man Up

Life On The Rim by David Levine (if you can find it) was the book that got me into sports nonfiction.

Look at Leigh Montville's books as well (Big Bam, Ted Williams, Manute) also.

Hoop Dreams, Paper Lion, The Soul of Baseball are some others that are too of mind.
