Tom Brady Almost Signed With The Saints Over The Buccaneers
© Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
On Tuesday morning, ESPN insider Jeff Darlington announced on Get Up that the New Orleans Saints nearly signed Tom Brady prior to him joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...
quote:

“I’m gonna say it as clear as day: it’s the New Orleans Saints,” Darlington said. “Regret might be a strong word because ultimately Drew Brees decided to delay his broadcasting career and come back for one more season. The Saints did the right thing by bringing Brees back. But I think that people still underestimate how close Tom Brady was to signing with the New Orleans Saints up until he ultimately decided on the Bucs. I know that that’s gonna be a statement people try to question. It’s the truth.”

Almost. Like when Sean Payton did the Viking Clap and then the Minneapolis Miracle happened. Almost.

Drew the Kneeler strikes again

I thought this came out after he signed with the Bucs last year and has been mentioned multiple times on Saints board. The media said he’d talked to the Saints and wanted to go there if Drew didn’t come back. I wonder why it’s coming back up this season.

Sean should of told Drew to go ahead, retire, and take a knee. We got a "Non Kneeler" wanting to come in. Plus he'll be an upgrade at quarterback!

"Should have" or "Should've". Never "Should of".

No one in their right mind would choose to live in New Orleans over Tampa anyway.

The City of New Orleans sucks anyway.

Drew knew this and came back due to jealousy. Drew had nothing in the tank but couldn’t stand the idea of letting Brady walk in to a Super Bowl with the Saints.

Boy did the Saints have a bad offseason last year

Yep, it was pretty bad. Gave Andrus Peat a big deal, busted on Emmanuel Sanders as he was inconsistent all year, and missed out on Tom f'n Brady. Unreal.
