ESPN is reporting that Houston Texans running back Arian Foster will likely need surgery after injuring his groin during practice on Monday.
quote:

Foster likely will miss the start of the regular season. He could be placed on short-term injured reserve, which would allow the Texans to bring him back to practices after Week 6 and into a game after Week 8.
Former LSU running back Alfred Blue took over to Foster but had to leave the field because of cramps.

The Texans will now bring in former Saints running back will Pierre Thomas to add depth at the running back position.
