Johnny Manziel Opens Up About His Bipolar Disorder & Quitting Drinking
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports
On ABC News' Good Morning America Monday morning, former NFL QB and Heisman Trophy winner, Johny Manziel, talked about recently being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and "self-medicating with alcohol" to escape a lingering depression...
quote:

"I'm working to try and make sure that I don’t fall back into any type of depression, because I know where that leads me and I know how slippery a slope that is for me," Manziel told ABC News' Good Morning America.

"At the end of the day, I can’t help that my wires are a little bit differently crossed than yours. I can’t help my mental makeup of the way that I was created."

Poor johnny. He gets depressed when the coke is depleted.

He’s not bipolar. He’s an idiot who thought he ruled the world and now he is realizing he doesn’t. I have no sympathy for him.

So he's blaming "how he was made." Not his fault. I see a relapse in his future. Johnny, a hint... we play a part in how we are wired.

BPD typically hits in the early 20's so I could actually believe this.

not sure what to think. I'm disinclined to believe anything he says, but it's true that many people self-medicate for bipolar or depression. If this is all true, I hope he gets the help and (legal) meds he needs. Will be interesting to see how this all turns out.
