To everyone thinking Dez is just saying this because the kid is black, go watch his highlights on youtube. I like the program that has been built in North Dakota St. He has good size to him and gives you more options on offense.

Dez might be right. Watch some film of Trey Lance. The kid is a bit raw but oozes next-level talent. Offenses in the NFL have been shifting to take advantage of athletic QBs, and if this kid goes to the right team he could be a star. Also, I'm not sold on Lawrence longterm. I think he might have a Mariota career path ... somewhat successful and show flashes but ultimately isn't a longterm franchise guy. I could be way, way wrong, and I know most people love the kid's potential, but he seems to lack some certain factor for me. Hard to put my finger on it, but he doesn't seem to have the same drive as a guy like Burrow (who does, right?).

While talent is very important, with a QB it's going to come down to being in the system that fits their talent, being able to read defenses and work ethic. There have been incredibly talented QB's that have been far out performed by a QB, that while very talented, didn't have quite the physical skills. When they get to the NFL, the defensive backs you face are so good and so fast, that you have to be able to read defenses to be successful. We have to look no further than Joe Burrow versus Dwayne Haskin. While Haskin has more talent, Burrow has off the charts work ethic and reading defenses, which despite being a year behind Haskin in the NFL, he is already far better.

Damn a lot of dumbasses in the comments. Justin Fields is black, Lance is mixed, so why pick him over the "black guy"? If anybody actually watched this kid play they'd know he has serious talent.
