UPDATE:
His father has confirmed that Brennan was a patient at a rehabilitation facility and found unconscious several days ago and passed away on Monday...
quote:

“He was doing so well, the spark was back in his eyes, and he was healthy and doing great, and it happened,” Terry Brennan told the Adviser.

“He had been doing really (well),” Brennan said. “These guys were no-nonsense guys. It just got away from him. I don’t know how else to explain it. Maybe one day I’ll be able to explain it better."

“He went peacefully,” Terry Brennan said. “He listened to Bob Marley. His sisters had a lei around him when he was unconscious. They had the music of Bob Marley playing near his ear.”
ORIGINAL:
Former University of Hawaii star QB Colt Brennan has passed away at the age of 37. He was a sixth-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by Washington and only spent a few more years in the league. A serious car crash in 2010 left him with a minor traumatic brain injury, which he described in detailed in a docu-series called “4th and Loud” about his brief stint with the Arena League’s Los Angeles Kiss. Then last year, he was arrested for a disturbance at a hotel in the Honolulu, and charged with second-degree trespassing. Months earlier, he wrote about his experiences, and what being in Hawaii meant for him during COVID-19 in an Instagram caption...
quote:

The last couple years have been a journey. I spent 9 months in the hospital, had to learn how to walk again, and have been trying to find my purpose . A couple years mixed with heartache, triumph, mistakes, and lessons in life. I’m so great full Hawaii is my home, and so great full for the state and especially its people during these tuff couple years. Riding out Covid – 19 is a blessing here compared to most of the world. The compassion and strength here in Hawaii feels unmatched, especially when we have managed such low rates of infection. Thank you Hawaii. Aloha, and “One Love.“

Wow, that's terrible. I remember his being terrorized by the Dawgs' defense during the 2008 Blackout Sugar Bowl.

That really sucks to hear. In death we're all at peace but the family left behind is usually not. Prayers for his family.
