Paul Finebaum: Big 10 Should 'Bend Rules' To Get Ohio State Into Conference Title Game
by Larry LeoDecember 2, 2020

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
After Northwestern lost to Michigan State last weekend, it left Ohio State to be the last remaining undefeated team in the Big Ten. The problem with that is with two canceled games already, the Buckeyes can’t afford to not play the last two games of the regular season. According to Big Ten rules, teams must play at least six games to be eligible for the title game. ESPN's Paul Finebaum believes that needs to be corrected and the conference should do whatever it takes to get Ohio State into the conference title game. Per 247Sports...

“The ownership is on them right now to adjust, and they have to find a way to get Ohio State playing for a Big Ten Championship,” Finebaum said Wednesday on ESPN’s Get Up. “That’s going to be critical to the Buckeyes to get into the playoff. There’s a good chance if the Buckeyes miss another game that you’ll get the ACC with two teams and the SEC with two teams, and the Buckeyes are going to be done.”

Clearly would like to see my team get in but I do become concerned about the precedent that it sets.

rigging the system is wrong, but this is a different year, and Ohio State is clearly the best team in their division. It sets a bad precedent, but this year, I don't have a problem putting them in the Big 10 championship game. I want to see 4 top teams in the playoffs, and OSU is one of them.

Rules are always bent for Ohio State! Just like the coach scandal under Urban! They basically were allowed to punish themselves while other schools like Missouri were smack by the ruling monarchy of the NCAA!

Make rules then break them when they don't work the way you want them.
Toughski Shitski as they say in Moscow.

ACC and SEC start when they should with room to reschedule games and get two teams in. Smart decisions paying dividends.
