Ohio St Sent Email To Students, About Missing Class For Title Game
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Ohio State is set to play Oregon in the national championship game in Arlington, Texas, on Monday, Jan. 12, which also happens to be the first day of the spring semester for the Buckeyes. On Tuesday afternoon, all OSU students received this email, warning them that they will not be excused for missing class due to the national championship game...

Come on, let them have fun!

"I agree 3HourTour. I'm sure magically all the football players professors will be the ones that ok missing class."

We'll considering student athletes, members of the band, student trainers, etc already have excused absences for the event, I am sure that their professors will be ok.

This is common practice buddy

As an alum, they will not disenroll anyone in the class that misses the first day. It is more of a formality that you don't go skipping multiple days and are aware that you are responsible for missed work. Teachers never teach anything on the first day....

As an Ohio State alumnus, this will certainly not be a problem. It's syllabus day. They are just covering their arse for students that won't Come back until Thursday and blame it on the game expecting notes and makeup work.

And football players are excused since its an Ohio State sanctioned activity just like the band, robot club, glee club, etc. That would miss class.

Relax people, if a student tells a professor he is going to the game with proof, then it'll be okay. You would have to be a huge dick otherwise. This is an email so 30,000 kids don't skip class and start getting drunk at 9am.

That's preposterous. Your team is playing in college footballs biggest game in the first year of the new playoffs and you can't excuse them for that? Hell, you cant even assure them that they won't be kicked out of that teachers class? That's some BULL shite right there.

Good, maybe next year they will do the first round of playoff games earlier so the actual championship can be played in early January.

Hopefully Braxton Miller takes Nicholson and not Highland the first day. Highland is always a cluster the first day of the semester.
