STATEMENT FROM LSU ATHLETIC DIRECTOR SCOTT WOODWARD ON SEC MEASURE TO PROTECT STUDENT-ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIPS

“I’m proud LSU was at the forefront of this measure. Our message to our student-athletes must be clear and unequivocal – we support you and we will stand by you in your decision making during this time whether you can compete or not. Your scholarship and the education and opportunities it affords will be protected here at LSU and across the SEC.”

But he still didn’t address how they are going to keep all 85 current non NFL draft able players AND still recruit a 2021 class. That is the conundrum that I’m wondering about. LSU probably has what about 12 players right now that the NFL wants? So I guess LSU will recruit 12 players for the 2021 class?

So two people just downvote my question but add nothing to the conversation? They bring nothing to the table? Larry can you find out the answer? I’m too incompetent to do it myself.

I didn’t interpret this move to mean no fall football. It actually gives me hope that they plan to move forward. They just can’t been seen as using a scholarship as leverage to get these kids to play. The University needs to be able to say that the players made a personal choice to play, and honestly, that’s the way it should be.
