The LSU men (15-4, 3-1) return to action tonight in Knoxville to face Tennessee (12-6, 3-1). Tip-off in Thompson-Boling Arena is at 7pm CT. The game will be regionally televised by Raycom Sports (WAFB-TV Channel 9 in Baton Rouge).

Per LSUsports.net, only 400 tickets remain for the LSU men’s basketball game against Arkansas in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Saturday’s game against Arkansas has been designated as the celebration of 100 years of LSU Basketball and over 125 former players are expected to be in attendance at the contest. LSU’s All-Century Team will be announced at halftime.

In LSU Baseball news, the baseball team is preparing to move into the new Alex Box Stadium next week. Head coach Paul Mainieri hopes the Tigers will be able to practice in the new facility for the first time on Tuesday, February 3.

According to this article in the T-P, Chad Jones will be with the team when practice begins officially Sunday. Sunday's practice will take place in the old Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers, who are ranked No. 1 or 2 in various preseason polls, start the season in the new stadium on February 20 against Villanova at 7pm.

In LSU Football news, LSU is still waiting for an NCAA ruling on defensive tackle Charles Alexander's petition for a sixth year of eligibility. Alexander, who has been plagued with injuries the last two seasons, is expected to be a starter if he is granted an additional year of eligibility.

yup... i couldn't pass up lsu +8... Tennessee has underachieved this year if you ask me. 74 ppg on defense is jsut terrible effort.

man tough game tonight...tennessee has A LOT of big men which is what gives us the most fits...vegas sees that as an issue too as we are an 8 point underdog...

Stro - I agree we could be considered in contention for the SEC crown, especially after ole miss took down Kentucky last night. It's a long road, but we will see. I think our matchup tonight is fairly favorable with Tenn's lack of defense.

Big time game tonight for the LSU basketball team. Although I don't expect them to win the game, this would be one huge stride towards the NCAA tournament for the Tigers. In fact, LSU would be considered one of the early season favorites to win the entire SEC if they leave Knoxville with a victory. Both teams are coming off losses on their homecourts, and it should be a very competitive game. Geaux Tigers!
