LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey returned to the sidelines last Saturday vs. Florida for the first time since stepping away in the offseason for a medical condition.

Head coach Brian Kelly said Monday that Lindsey just finished his treatments and is coming back in a part-time role as he continues to get to full strength.

For now, Lindsey will be in more of an "administrative role" right now, Kelly said.

Bring him back as an analyst and clean this defensive staff out including hiring a dline coach and who will have the energy to go at recruiting a 100 miles per hour. We are failing at every position group on the defensive side of the ball. Facts are facts.

This is a rough situation for Lindsey and LSU football. The man clearly has a serious health issue and LSU needs a full time DL coach recruiting and coaching. LSU clearly trying to manage this appropriately for Lindsey, but there are impacts to the team in doing so.

These comments are less than ideal. Your DL coach is probably a little nutty and always high energy. You can’t have a guy leading and recruiting this group at half speed. Kelly needs to do something in this regard. Check with the HR department and find out what can be done.
