In 2004, this impressive list of coaches and university staffers were employed at LSU.

Legendary LSU Baseball coach Skip Bertman was the Athletic Director for the Tigers at the time.

This list does not include current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver coach and former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley who was LSU's assistant head coach, special teams coordinator and running backs coach in 2004.

Derek Dooley not so impressive

Thank you, Joe Dean, for hiring Nick Saban in 1999, and accomplishing the monumental task of lifting a 3-8 program to a Championship level.

Actually, Emmert hired Saban. And, as pointed out to me, he was our chancellor, not AD.

9-3 with loss vs. Iowa in Capital One bowl. What's changed?

Is this the same Jordan Meisner that was a big time recruit at one point?

Damn the NCAA president, that's pretty neat. Did not know we had a resume like that.Interesting.

LSU fans stay living in the past & wonder why they irrelevant! Might as well bring back Dale Brown you at it.

Not sure why only downvotes. This is truth. Let’s talk about guys from over a decade ago where none are still here. Meanwhile we have Dufus and dufus Jr now. What I think when I see this list is What a joke lsu has become.

Totally agree. LSU is such an average program with someone who will never get respect leading the charge.

Herb Vincent was our SID. LSU fans were extremely informed when he was here. I remember listening to an LSU Baseball game in February 1996 and he announced LSU was getting an East Upper Deck during the broadcast. Pretty awesome.

Herb should be commish.

So does that makes us smart or stupid given none work for us currently?

Name an elite college that still have the same coaches as 13 years ago......

Also doesn’t include Herb Vincent who is now with the SEC.

The most important thing to remember is that Skip put those guys together. That's what a good AD will do for a univ's programs.
Reply11 months
Was going to say this. Skip knew greatness when he saw it.
11 months
Skip did not hire any of those guys do some research. Skip did not become AD until 2001. Emmert hired Saban, Saban hired the coaches and I'm sure Emmert hired Woodard and Radakovich.

Skip or Emmert, it still took a good AD to put things together. The focus of my statement was mainly directed at the not-so-good AD that LSU has right now.

Reply11 months
Emmert was a good AD. That’s why he was promoted to NCAA President. Skip also did a great job as AD.
