In 2004, this impressive list of coaches and university staffers were employed at LSU.

Legendary LSU Baseball coach Skip Bertman was the Athletic Director for the Tigers at the time.

This list does not include current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver coach and former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley who was LSU's assistant head coach, special teams coordinator and running backs coach in 2004.

Thank you, Joe Dean, for hiring Nick Saban in 1999, and accomplishing the monumental task of lifting a 3-8 program to a Championship level.

Actually, Emmert hired Saban. And, as pointed out to me, he was our chancellor, not AD.

Herb Vincent was our SID. LSU fans were extremely informed when he was here. I remember listening to an LSU Baseball game in February 1996 and he announced LSU was getting an East Upper Deck during the broadcast. Pretty awesome.

The most important thing to remember is that Skip put those guys together. That's what a good AD will do for a univ's programs.

Was going to say this. Skip knew greatness when he saw it.

Skip did not hire any of those guys do some research. Skip did not become AD until 2001. Emmert hired Saban, Saban hired the coaches and I'm sure Emmert hired Woodard and Radakovich.

Skip or Emmert, it still took a good AD to put things together. The focus of my statement was mainly directed at the not-so-good AD that LSU has right now.
