Correct. Started with Hayden Fry at Iowa in the 1970s. He consulted with the psychology department and asked what to do to the visitors locker room to have a calming effect and they recommended a specific shade of pink.

It's also why they copy the Steelers uniforms. They wanted the opponents (and themselves) to see the Hawkeyes as the Steelers.
