There is a look at every pass that Danny Etling threw in LSU's 34-13 win over Jacksonville State on Saturday night.

Etling replaced Brandon Harris on LSU's third possession against Gamecocks and lead the Tigers on three straight scoring drives. He finished 6-for-14 with 100 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception. He also added a 2-yard rushing TD.

The scramble then throw to the TE was a great heads up play that Harris would have never made. He looked so much more calm in the pocket. I don't see the controversy, Etling > Harris

He really isn't bad. Good pocket presence. I think with lf in there, they can throw simple short passes, open up the d a little bit, and nickel and dime their way down the field. With those backs, a half decent QB, and even mediocre play calling and you can wear any defense out. Keep an on the field and grind them down.

He spread the ball around well and navigated the pocket well. Had Dupre not dropped 2 and Guice caught that deep ball, he could've had over 200yds and over 65% completion. Chark looked great too, he needs the ball more.

It's night and day. Etling is a far more competent QB than Harris. Just listen to the way he communicates after the game. He talks about reads and progressions. Danny is more cerebral than Harris. Sure, he finished the game weakly, but he didn't even know that he was going to play. I feel that if he is given time to prepare as the starter, he's going to be very serviceable for us, which is all we need. He just needs to take the pressure off of Leonard. The guy needs help from Dupre, though. Not only was Malachai dropping passes, but he's partly responsible for the interception. On a ball that hangs for that long, he's gotta get up there and knock it down! Dupre avoids contact at all cost and is a pansy. Someone needs to toughen that boy up or get him out of the game.

Really only 2 errant throws. Lots of drops and catchable balls.

After watching this I feel better about his performance. Didn't get to watch a lot of the game but was following online and just looking at pure numbers he dropped off there at the end. Didn't see the drops and how damn weak Malachi has played this year.

Look people. Harris took pretty much all of the snaps in off season, meaing Etling never has had a chance to learn the receivers or get a good feel for his o-line. Give him a couple weeks of taking all the practice snaps. We don't need a superstar, all we need is a competent quarterback who can complete about 58% of his passes, spread the field some and not make stupid plays. That's it. If he does that LSU can probably beat everyone except for the gumps. We don't need Montana, all we need competent.

Much better poise. Hate to say it because I like Harris. Time will tell. Maybe Etling being the starter will settle B Harris down and allow him to come in and have fun.

I liked Harris before he started showing his true colors. I think he should take this season and learn as much as he can from Etling and then compete for next years spot with 3 years under his belt.

TaderSalad If Harris hasn't learned and developed by now than he won't next year. Jordan Jeffrrson regressed after his sophomore season

b.harris just told Johnson that he was smart for leaving. then locked his twitter, this young man is losing it before our eyes. he may become a distraction. hope someone in the locker room gets control of him, if etling goes out and throw for 4 tds and 250 yds b.harris may be a transfer before October oh my how things go from sugar to shite in 30 secs lol

Etling's equipment game is on point. Coolest style helmet, chinstrap, eyeblack, jersey fit, and undershirt. Just how I used to do myself up in NCAA and Madden back in the good old days, mates

Man did we watch the same game? This guy looked worst than Harris. 6-14 100 yards 1 int 1 fumble. Didnt complete a pass in the second half. Are you kidding me. Are you guys that desperate. This is like dumping an ugly girlfriend for another ugly women. Thats not an upgrade my friend!

Arkansas D gonna eat up this "sit in the pocket 5 seconds then underthrow deep ball" offense.
