He didn’t say there was an issue with it. But he’s not going to count on someone who said they were committed to you but then didn’t grab the first chance they get to sign. Not real committed if you aren’t committing when the opportunity comes. The reset button has to be pushed, at that point it would be foolish to trust the guy will sign at the “next” opportunity. Now you go look for guys who can still play at a high level but really are committed to playing ball for the Tiger but also keep letting the commuted guy know that he’s very much wanted and he’s their priority. That’s all he’s saying and he’s correct in that mindset. These kids need to remember what made them choose the Tigers in the first place and stop letting narratives and others dictate your moves. I would bet there are many many many players who really regret rethinking the opportunity they had to play for LSU. It’s got everything you could possibly want in a school and more. Education, big time football, national exposure, first round opportunities, NFL opportunities, the best competition, the best coaches, the best support staff, a great roster to play with, the best perks, Heisman exposure, your own positions exposure, media exposure, beautiful women, party life, great food and we teach our kids how to be an adult on and off the field. We need Devin White and some of those guys to come talk to these kids. Those guys were here when it wasn’t so good and the talk was bad. Look what they helped build. All it takes is hard work and to be dedicated to your program. Play for something greater than you. If you do that, the rest will follow.

If a kid has been committed but doesn’t sign on signing day then he is not committed to LSU. If LSU holds a scholarship for two more months and then the “committed” kid “does what’s best for him” then what is in it for LSU? LSU could have gone a gotten another kid to sign instead of losing out all the way around.

I love the approach coach O is taking. You can't wait on players who have a chance to sign but don't. He who hesitate is lost. If Foreman, Leigh, Davis and etc want to sign in February you definitely take them but, you can't wait around and be left at the altar.

Wasn't it last year when we lost two WR's one to Georgia and one to Maryland and look how that turned out. LSU didn't miss a beat and we still got some of the best young talent in the country at the WR position and like Coach O said we don't worry about who's not here just the ones who wants to be real LSU Tigers.

Can't disagree with O's approach. He has been burned at the alter enough times to know when to back off and maybe take a lesser star player, but at least he gets one that likely is more dedicated & bleeds purple & gold!
