Per LSUSports.net: GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- LSU built a two-touchdown lead early in the second half, took advantage of a missed PAT, and pitched a fourth-quarter shutout of No. 21 Florida on Saturday in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to return home with a 17-16 victory.

LSU (4-2, 1-1 SEC) earned the victory on the defensive side in the fourth quarter, as linebacker Devin White batted down a fourth-down pass in Florida territory that secured the victory. White led the Tigers with 13 tackles including a sack.

I have to admit, Coach Gator was fairly humble and a bit classy in his postgame comments. He complimented the well prepared Tigers often

Devin understands what it is to be an LSU tiger! He knows he's on to the NFL but wants to make the best out of his collegiate career in the mean time! Young tigers take notes!

A win is a win. This will go a long way. Gators eat crow! Tiger fans our season is far from over. Let's get behind our guys 110%. We still have plenty to play for!

Damn right! And we have a kicker too! Culp was perfect on the day! Devin White is an animal! Rashard Lawrence was held all day, and still wreaked havoc! And Lacouture played his best game as a Tiger! Etling is as tough as nails! Maybe dial up some more running plays for him. The dude is fearless! The officials were horrendous! Clearly biased towards Florida. Screwed LSU time after time and the Tigers whipped their asses too. Coach O should be sending several plays to league headquarters for review. Although nothing will be done about it. Great win, Tigers!

All the coach O haters can go cry in the corner! Great job coach getting your team ready! Great job players! You look like you wanted to compete today.

I think they’re in hiding. I don’t see the usual suspects commenting tonight. Fair weather and bandwagon. Lol. Great job, young Tigers! Big boy football is back! Tough challenge next week against Auburn at Death Valley! Keep em rolling O! Nice job coaches!

There wouldn't be half as much hate on the board if the whole team had played like that since week 1, not week 6. And not everyone that is angry about that is an "O hater", though that would be easier for you to process, right? Congratulations to our Tigers for a hard fought, team effort victory over Florida!

One of the positives from last years administrative blunder is that LSU will get to beat Florida two years in a row in Gainesville. Has that ever happened?
user avatar
Lexman1104 months
Don’t know. But we usually play tough there. I have no problem playing there again next year.
user avatar
powertripped104 months
Nope. We've never had back to back in Gainesville. Assuming the weather cooperates.

LSU has never played two years in a row in Gainesville ever. LSU has won consecutive games at Gainesville in '02 and '04. Now...how old are you again?
