There were two noticeable position changes at LSU's practice on Monday to address areas of need.

Versatile sophomore safety Jacoby Stevens was spotted working at the field-linebacker position behind Michael Divinity, while freshman defensive end Dare Rosenthal was working at offensive tackle.

Stevens, a highly recruited safety from Murfreesboro, TN moved over to offense during his freshman year but came back to the secondary this season.

Rosenthal, a former four-star defensive tackle from Ferriday, LA, played both offense and defense in High School. He worked behind starting left tackle Saahdiq Charles on Monday.

Austin Deculus and Badara Traore were working out at right tackle.

From that clip, he better get quicker off the snap.

Stevens is fast, big and athletic. I could see him wreaking havoc at that position. Fingers crossed it works out for the Tigers and for him.

Hmmm...well perhaps he should have been moved over to OL preseason because the depth at the OL wasn’t exactly stellar to begin with. Now we are thin as a wafer at OL and have to get a guy who has been practicing for 10-12 weeks on the other side of the ball ready to play OL with the meat of our schedule coming up. Stunning coaching fail

Your first post on here didn’t consist of enough bitching and crying? Calm down you little bitch, you can say ‘I told you so about coach O’ when/if auburn beats LSU

These are good things for the team (although I hope Stevens develops as a safety for his personal career; it just fits his body type).

Stevens is 6’2 225, he looks more like a LB than a safety. He’s true sophomore and already bigger than Debo Jones. I think this is a great career move for him if he can play the position.

Rosenthal didn't look very quick off the snap in that clip. Didn't seem too enthused, either.

Yea, I noticed the same thing. Most coaches allow first year players an opportunity to play the position they desire. Sometimes their desired position isn't the one they are best suited for. With LSU needing better Oline I hope Rosenthal comes around and decides to put all he has into the position. I think if he commits to the position he can develop into a great Olineman.

I don't understand whats going on with Stevens. Is he any good or what? Is he talented enough to move him around to try and get him on the field, or not talented at anything specific enough for a particular position??? He's gone from safety to receiver to h-back to safety and now to linebacker. WTF???

He's starting to show flashes and if they can get him trained in a few spots, he will stay on the field. He's a stick of dynamite ready to blow up.

Rosenthal played OL last year in high school so its not like he is learning a new position.

Translation: we are fricked. Moving a DT to LT during Auburn week...we’ll be fine. Um ok

He should’ve been there from the get go. What does it matter what week we move him? Do you really think he will start over arguably our best O-Lineman in Charles? Not a chance, this move is for depth purposes and to give us another option at OT. I just don’t see the down side to this move....

Dude was a big time offensive tackle in high school and was sought after by many schools for the OT position. I think is it a smart move to help with depth and the dude has the right build for sure

Even though he is 2nd team LT. LSU just got much better on the OL.
