The SEC announced Tuesday that 116 football players in the conference will be wearing SEC Graduation patches during this year's Bowl Season. Twelve of the players are LSU Tigers. Per SEC Sports:
quote:

The SEC introduced the patch in 2016 season for student-athletes in all sports who have already earned their degree, but have not exhausted their eligibility. The SEC logo patch on their uniforms is replaced with a special patch with the word "Graduate" underneath the conference logo. The patch is similar in design for all conference schools, but it is school-specific in color.
Here's a list of the 12 LSU players that will be wearing the patch:

A great sense of honor and accomplishment for these student athletes. I like it! It’s a reminder that these guys have 2 jobs (1 on the field and 1 in the classroom.) That’s a lot to handle. Most people complain about one job, so congrats to everyone wearing the Patch!

This reminds me of the commercial that talks about how 98% of student-athletes will go PRO, in something other than sports. It really is a great reminder to realize these kids aren’t just football players and their existence isn’t to make US happy by winning TODAY but to get that degree that’s gonna benefit them for the next 50 years

A lot of times we take for granted what it means to be able to not only play football for LSU but also graduate from LSU. Great honor and an awesome way to represent yourself and your family. Geaux Tigers!
