The Jacksonville Jaguars waived former LSU star and No. 4 overall pick Leonard Fournette on Monday morning. Per ESPN:

The move ends a tumultuous three-year run in which Fournette rushed for 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Jaguars didn't pick up his fifth-year option during the offseason and actively pursued a trade without receiving any serious offers.

"At the end of the day, I just felt that was the best decision for us as a team," coach Doug Marrone told reporters. "I think it gives us the best opportunity, with the skill sets that we have with the other players in there, I just thought that that was the best for the team.

"... We exhausted all trade opportunities. We weren't able to get anything there."

Anywhere but New Orleans, he'll most likely end up in the NFC.

Jags are a dumpster fire franchise in a garbage location.

why would this surprise anyone at this point in time? LF7 was not happy with the Jags and they were not pleased with him. too much talent to not be picked up by another team...we will see him in an NFL backfield very soon...

More to the story if the Jags couldn't even get a 5th or 6th round pick as a trade option.

Reported that he was a malcontent, and wouldn't keep his mouth shut in the locker room.

Be interesting to see if he can land on a team that actually has a passing game. He’s never had one of those.

His ankle is jacked up. Hard to run on a bad ankle.

I hope that isn't true. It would be interesting seeing him on a better team.

It's Duval. He was playing from behind at the start. Curious to see who gives him the next chance and hope he can get back to form with them.
