But ...he gave a fiery impassioned speech to the team a few weeks ago

He gave more than the other touted WR. Joe B was the real deal. These guys are simply gifted athletes

I mean all he would be playing for is potential to get hurt

The people hating on him really don’t get how life works. They still the ones living the glory days of their high school playing days but even then most probably didn’t play then either.

Can't "dress" this up. He QUIT....period. Why return at the start of the season? Are we going to have part time seasonal players now? Give me a break!

If there is ever a time to bail. A kinda made up team on a not real season. No reason to risk anything is actually appropriate this time.

All who are defending. You are saying you're okay with quitting after your team is out of the hunt. That is what you are saying.

I'm usually here to condemn in these situations - but it truly doesn't matter if he plays or not. Until we get past this Covid crap and return to packed stadiums, none of it will ever mean the same. For the record, I hope he realizes his dream of playing in the NFL and can take care of his parents.

It's more obvious now than ever that College Football is the NFL Minor Leagues.

College football is going to look much different within th next decade. If the NFL ratings continue to decline, it will also look much different.

So much for being a team leader and having the courage to finish with those guys he thanks. Extremely disappointed and wish no ill will on him but this is the character i would draft. Many other great options out there. Finishing does matter.

I’m don’t blame Marshall for taking advantage of the situation. He’s playing for one of the worst LSU teams I’ve ever seen and COVID has made things even worse. I hate a quitter as much as the next guy, but I can’t blame him one bit at this point.

Love this board. The ncaa made a deal with its players that they could opt out at any time. In exchange the players agreed to move forward and play football for free during a pandemic. Big ten cancelled the season because of economic logistical challenges covid would present. But fell to the pressure and had a season. Thier top team ohio state might not even get to finish the season. This board had many posts with conpieracy theries that covid was a hoax. No one was getting sick.No one was dying. REMEMBER THAT? NOW we have the season many predicted. When unpaid player takes the deal he was offered everyone calls him a quitter. Y'all are sick.
