Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
While suspensions have been lifted for cornerback Rashard Robinson and center Elliott Porter, neither is expected to start in LSU’s home opener against Sam Houston State on Saturday. The Newstar.com is reporting that Porter might not even play at all.

Both Robinson, a sophomore who started two games and played regularly last season, and Porter, who started 12 games in 2013, did not make the trip to Houston last week for the Tigers’ 28-24 win over No. 14 Wisconsin because of disciplinary suspensions. Junior Jalen Collins will again start at cornerback ahead of Robinson, and sophomore Ethan Pocic will again start at center ahead of Porter, LSU coach Les Miles said after practice on Wednesday.
Asked if Porter will play at all, Miles said, “I don’t know if he’ll play in this one.”

True freshman wide receiver Trey Quinn is expected to start his second consecutive game. Quinn caught an 11-yard pass and the two-point conversion in the fourth quarter to get the Tigers within 24-21.
“He is a smart football player,” Miles said. “He’s a guy that really takes the practice and works his technique. You would expect him to do extremely well. He’s become a very, very solid performer and somebody that we need on the field.”
Miles said he expects no players to be held out for injury or discipline. True freshman wide receiver Malachi Dupre (ankle, hamstring) is expected to play after missing the Wisconsin game.
