ESPN’s Get Up crew discussed the ongoing legal battle between the SEC and players attempting to return to college after spending time with NFL teams on Wednesday morning, and the conversation appeared to be shifting more in LSU’s favor.

Host Mike Greenberg reminded viewers that LSU is not trying to bring in “established NFL players,” emphasizing that these are unique circumstances involving players who still have college eligibility remaining.

Jordan Rodgers also pointed out that the NCAA “moved the goalposts” by creating the 5-for-5 rule in June, after these players had already made their decisions regarding the NFL.

“And where was the uproar when Diego Pavia sued the NCAA for a junior college year not to count?” Rodgers asked. “Was it just because it was Vandy? He played an extra year, and no one cared. Now it’s a big deal because it’s LSU and Lane Kiffin?”

Paul Finebaum and Louis Riddick also suggested that Kiffin is putting the pressure on himself and taking the spotlight off his team, knowing he has a really good squad that will be ready for Clemson.

Except for the one guy, Jordan Rodgers, who spoke directly to the issue, the rest of them said a whole bunch of nothing.

I don't like it and I think it's a distraction as an LSU fan, but they make a valid point that many of these players might not have declared for the draft had they been given a fifth year. Lane will just be the villain this year.

It's not even just about LSU but, the talking heads got the word from ESPN to "talk it up" for ratings.

This is called “ reading the room.” Sam Acho and Louis Riddick were saying the same thing a week ago. They didn’t pile on LSU or Kiffen.

Finebaum is a chode.

“Evil genius.”

Even when he compliments Kiffin, he does so with the back of his hand.

Dude sucks and should never be listened to. Guy couldn’t play a game of dice without hurting his shoulder. That he has a sports talk platform at all is an indictment of the entire space.

Well, well… looks like Elf Ears is already changing his tune. Funny what knowing you’ll be stepping onto LSU’s campus this season will do to a man!
