Report: The College Football Early Signing Day Period In December Is Moving

Pete Thamel of ESPN reports that commissioners voted to move the College Football early signing period in December up one week to the Wednesday after the regular season.

The decision to add a third signing period in the summer will be discussed at an in-person meeting in June.

Yes, let's move the Dec signing day to the week of conference championships. Geez, that would be a great idea.

This move will really only affect eight schools (eighteen if you add the G5) that are playing in conference championships. The other 116 FBS schools aren't doing shite that week. If you're playing in the conference championship, chances are your class is pretty damn good to begin with.

2024 SEC football Championship Game is Saturday December 7, 2024. The early signing date would be the following week on Wednesday December 11, 2024 as far as I understand it. (It was Wednesday December 20 last year.)
