Baton Rouge radio host Jordy Culotta is reporting that LSU receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. will be opting out of the remainder of the season.

There were rumblings on the Tiger Rant last week that LSU would have a player opting out soon and it sounds like that player is Marshall Jr.

Marshall, a junior from Bossier City, LA, has played in all seven of LSU's games this season, recording 48 receptions for 731 yards and ten touchdowns.

His potential departure means the Tigers will be without their leading receiver for the remaining game against No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, and Ole Miss.

I don’t blame him, the coaches are failing these kids. prioritize, prioritize, prioritize.

You don't think some of these kids are failing themselves? Maybe the coaches are teaching them to block... but they don't. Maybe the coaches are teaching the DBs to turn their head and look for the ball... but they don't. How are those small examples the coaches fault?

These coaches have failed nobody. Fools like you simply do not want to face reality that this team is beyond green. LSU doesn’t have more than 70 players on this roster and that is simply from players graduating and leaving early. How about you telling us how you would install a new defense with no Spring and a short Fall Practice. Tell us how you would handle losing your starting QB and playing a two true Freshmen at QB. Of course to geniuses like yourself this could be just mere childsplay so tell us oh wise one just what you would do.

I think this is best decision. He still played this season and had some good games. Can't risk an injury.

Didn't he risk injury in and from game one?? I don't get this concept. If it's because the season it lost, then he should have left after the Mizzou game.

He didn’t quit on his teammates. He helped them half way through and is completely commuting to his family. Also, I hard the kid GM is dying from covid so frick off.
user avatar
If the coaches knew about this before the game. He should have been dismissed from the team.

I love watching grown men calling out 18-21 year olds cause they made a decision that could affect millions of dollars. Meanwhile, it’s the lazy asses sitting at home judging cause college kids playing on Saturday is their entire life (high schoolers playing on Fridays might also be their life now that i think about it)? I love LSU but it is not my place to tell a kid how to live his life. This season has pretty much been shite, he played well with no real quarterback at the helm. Constantly thrown high leaving himself open for getting annihilated by a defender. Get out while healthy and go get your pay check. Thanks for helping us get a ring and will be cheering for you at the next level!

Can't blame this guy for doing this but he's setting an example at toxic culture that will spill into next season. Don't be surprised to start seeing guys like Stingley sit out if he's graded as a 1st going into next season.

SEC: The Alabama game has been rescheduled. Marshal: Then I’m gonna head out and get ready for the NFL. ??????
