Baton Rouge radio host Jordy Culotta is reporting that LSU receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. will be opting out of the remainder of the season.

There were rumblings on the Tiger Rant last week that LSU would have a player opting out soon and it sounds like that player is Marshall Jr.

Marshall, a junior from Bossier City, LA, has played in all seven of LSU's games this season, recording 48 receptions for 731 yards and ten touchdowns.

His potential departure means the Tigers will be without their leading receiver for the remaining game against No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, and Ole Miss.

He leaves a bad taste in my mouth about him that’s for sure. The NFL doesn’t like guys that quit. If he had opted before the season that’s one thing but doing it with 3 games left is pussy shite.

The NFL doesn’t like guys who quit! How in the frick do you know what they do and don’t like? I don’t know either, but I’m fairly certain that a first rounder is taking advice from his agent and/or NFL scouts that he should not risk injury....to opt out to prepare for the draft.

I highly doubt anyone in the NFL cares who plays in the Great Asterisk Season of 2020. I hate that he’s leaving too but let’s stop pretending like him playing the next two games means anything.

Way to quit on your team when the chips are down. Unbelievable

SEC: The Alabama game has been rescheduled.

Marshal: Then I’m gonna head out and get ready for the NFL.

This season is a joke people. Anyone who thinks this is a real football season is kidding themselves. If the fricking liberals have their way this may be the last of college football as we know it. They are out to destroy American life as we have known it and Covid is just a means to their end. Schools cannot continue spending money they don’t have in order to play sports and this fraud of Covid and allowing players to opt out (quit) and suspend games and play games with a roster of green players is the death of sports. Congrats Democrats.

Can't blame this guy for doing this but he's setting an example at toxic culture that will spill into next season. Don't be surprised to start seeing guys like Stingley sit out if he's graded as a 1st going into next season.

Too bad LSU can't develop more players like Devin White.

I am sick and tired of the term "opt out". He quit. I am not saying I disagree with him protecting his NFL contract, but the media needs to stop using that phrase. Opting out at the beginning of the year with the Covid looming I am okay with but quitting with 3 games left...NO.

Yes, maybe he did quit, but the covid baloney which includes opt out option, makes it incredibly easy and makes it okay to quit this season, unlike any other seasons. it really empowers/enables quitters. I hope Tyler Shelvin goes undrafted too.

Just goes to show that college sports teams are just a bunch of self serving jocks out for their own best interests. Gotta "Love the purple and live the gold".
