Report: LSU RB Tae Provens Accused Of Raping Woman At Campus Apartment

Multiple sources are reporting that LSU running back Tae Provens was arrested Wednesday on one count of third-degree rape after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an on-campus apartment last weekend. Per The Advocate:

Freshman running back Alfonso "Tae" Provens was arrested Wednesday on one count of third-degree rape. LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard III confirmed Provens arrest Wednesday afternoon.

"We can confirm that Alfonso Provens has been arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on third degree rape charges," Ballard said. "We take any and all allegations like these seriously, and currently, this is a law enforcement investigation. Once the law enforcement component is completed, the Office of Student Advocacy & Accountability and the Title IX office will conduct their investigation as well."

Provens, a former three-star athlete from Gurley, AL, entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal on March 21 and has not participated in team activities since.

He played in just two games as a true freshman in 2018.
