The Mississippi State transfer signal caller was seen at the Tigers' 16th preseason practice Monday morning sporting a splint on his right hand, covering his index and middle fingers. Van Buren was present at practice and dressed out, but did not participate in any throwing drills that the media were able to see.
Van Buren was a full participant in LSU's practice Friday, the last practice media were allowed to view. The team had its second scrimmage of fall camp Saturday night inside Tiger Stadium so it appears the 6-foot, 190-pound sophomore injured his throwing hand at some point during that scrimmage.
