LSU is reportedly working to add former Utah cornerback Blake Cotton to the roster, following Thursday night's preliminary injunction ruling.

Cotton went undrafted this spring and initially attended rookie minicamps with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers as a tryout player, but neither team signed him.

The Denver Broncos then invited him to their mandatory minicamp in June as a tryout player and signed him on June 18.

His NFL stint was cut short when he suffered a hamstring injury during training camp and was waived with an injury settlement. He never appeared in an NFL preseason game.

Cotton played his college ball at UC Davis for three seasons before spending his fourth season of eligibility at Utah.

The 6-foot-2 corner played in 13 games last season, earning eight starts. He recorded 30 tackles, two tackles for loss and seven pass breakups.

LSU faces a Friday deadline to finalize its roster ahead of Saturday's season opener against Clemson. Stay tuned.

The NCAA is dysfunctional and inept. They left a loop hole that unfairly limits these individuals players and it has been called out by the courts. I think LSU AD and Lane Kiffin have an obligation to pursue every opportunity to improve the team and compete for a NC. They are being paid a lot of money to do so. If I am a season ticket holder, booster, player at a school with administrators and coaches who are not pushing as hard as Kiffin and LSU I think I have to wonder if I’m getting ripped off.LSU fans just saw what that was like with the last coach.

CLK got handed the keys to the Rolls Royce and is willing to risk running the whole program’s history into the ground before he even coaches a snap! For backups! Beyond stupid.

You guys are so blind!!! You cannot see the consequences!! I was 1000% on board with roster these players until the SEC filed a federal suit in Alabama. LSU’s odds of winning the case are very low. If this case goes past tomorrow and LSU rosters any of these players who signed any NFL contracts, the SEC will max out every single penalty it can possibly give. They will try to make LSU the example of the century. IT IS NOT WORTH IT AT THIS POINT!!!!!! The only way this could work is if this emergency hearing is heard on Friday morning. Go ahead and hit that down vote button but you know I’m right. Y’all just have way too much pride but y’all are gonna be very upset when Kiffin gets suspended over trying to roster some backups.

Show that same energy when LSU either doesn’t roster these players because of too much risk or gets heavily penalized because they did. “Pride is the downfall of man.”
