Report: LSU General Manager Austin Thomas Leaving For Similar Position At Tennessee

Multiple sources are reporting that LSU general manager Austin Thomas is leaving to accept a similar position at Tennessee.

Thomas, a native of Franklin, Tenn., received his master's degree in sports management from Tennessee and worked for the Vols under former coach Lane Kiffin. He also has the same agent as new Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Thomas was promoted to General Manager last November and has been heavily involved in LSU's Recruiting over his past four years in Baton Rouge. He was being paid $125,000 a year under a two-year contract he signed in May of 2016, according to The Advocate.

Well, I can’t say this is a surprise. Austin has a chance to return home and be around family and friends while working for his alma mater. Pretty much a no brainer. I wish him well and thanks for being a Tiger!

This is about money. At the end of the day, Most people are prostitues in this business (and business in general) including all of the current staff.
Rarely does a person leave a job for less money especially one of the same level.
Enough money keeps him regardless of where he is from.
