Multiple sources are reporting that LSU general manager Austin Thomas is leaving to accept a similar position at Tennessee.

Thomas, a native of Franklin, Tenn., received his master's degree in sports management from Tennessee and worked for the Vols under former coach Lane Kiffin. He also has the same agent as new Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Thomas was promoted to General Manager last November and has been heavily involved in LSU's Recruiting over his past four years in Baton Rouge. He was being paid $125,000 a year under a two-year contract he signed in May of 2016, according to The Advocate.

How good of a job did he really due. The OL and DL were in shambles depth wise, and the decline began about the time he took over.

Tennessee is in the East. He gets to go home. He gets a chance to revamp a program that also plays Bama every year. Good for him and Tennessee.

Well he will have his work cut out for him. That talent pool up there isn’t near as plentiful as it is down on the Bayou that’s for damn sure . Don’t don’t doubt him though after a couple years he will help em move in the right direction I’m sure.

This is about money. At the end of the day, Most people are prostitues in this business (and business in general) including all of the current staff. Rarely does a person leave a job for less money especially one of the same level. Enough money keeps him regardless of where he is from. CheriOs are gonna spin this shite message though. Derrick and his delinquents are not looking out for the good of the University.

Are you not reading anything? It’s not a prison. He has the freedom to go home if he wishes to do so.

Did you not read Delly's tweet above that LSU offered him a contract boost, but he choose to return home. You can't fault a man for that

Well, I can’t say this is a surprise. Austin has a chance to return home and be around family and friends while working for his alma mater. Pretty much a no brainer. I wish him well and thanks for being a Tiger!
