Former LSU legend and 1959 Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon was spotted in Tiger Stadium on Thursday during the team's "Student Day" practice.

I was at LSU with him = class of '60. He was either the fastest shot-putter or the strongest sprinter in the history of sports. Met him once at Junction, Tx on a hunting trip, having breakfast at a restaurant there. Down to earth good guy.

He’s lost a lot of weight - used to eat breakfast with him every Sunday morning at Russell’s on Airline when I was a kid.

I actually met him outside Tiger Stadium today! He took a photo with me and I helped him break a $100 bill so he could get a soda out the machine. I offered to buy him the soda but he said he really needed the change. What a great guy!
