Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
New LSU head coach Ed Orgeron joined the Paul Finebaum Show on Monday and was asked whether he thinks he should be the permanent LSU head coach after the season.
quote:

Paul Finebaum: "Do you think you should be the permanent LSU head coach?"

Ed Orgeron: "We'll we're going to see. I feel that there's some support in the administration. I'm from Louisiana but I also understand that pressure to win games at LSU. We have to win games. I think that if we do win games, I will have a fair shot at being the head coach here."

PF: "Do you think or have you been told that there is a magic number of games you need to win? Or a game you need to win?"

EO: "No. Not at all. It happened very fast Sunday. I was told to get this team in order, do the best I can. They had full confidence and I have their full support."

PF: "Do you think that if everything goes well, then you should be the head coach there?"

EO: "We'll see. We need to win some games. We need to beat Florida first. But I do believe that if we have success, I will have a fair shot."

Make him the AD and Herman the HC. Makes perfect sense.

If Orgeron finishes the season strong and isn't offered the head coach position, I hope he is made the highest paid offensive coordinator in college football at LSU.

If this team continues to respond to him, HE should get a two year contract extension... the players deserve to not have 3 coaches in their career at LSU.

I wish Coach O nothing but success, and I truly hope he tears it up from here on out and shows people what's up.

No matter what happens I hope he gets a fair shot. Not the first choice, but anything less than a fair shot is a crappy way to treat people.

Unless he has super powers or some type of immortalizing technology comes to existence, by definition, I find it incredibly unlikely that CEO becomes the "permanent" coach.

If he wins 6 games there are only two names I would air over him and one of those will be wearing Orange Horns...... Jimbo only name I would take over O if he jus goes 5-3 and looks good doing it.

Petrino has baggage. Alleva is scared of that kind of stuff based on his run at Duke. He'll never allow BP to coach at LSU.

"I was told to get this team in order," Were there internal problems?

Coach Orgeron handled that very well. Finebaum is a prick.

Finebaum tried to get him to say he deserved the job. He tried bad. It would have been blown out of proportion. Coach O sounded like a head coach. Not sure he will get the job, but LSU could do much worse. Coach O has come a long way from the Ole Sis days.
