ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay spoke on the 'First Draft Podcast' with Mel Kiper last week and was high on LSU linebacker Patrick Queen, saying he will "start right away "for the team that selects him.
quote:

“Study his tape,” McShay said. “He’s the best player on the field on the defensive side for LSU just about every, single down. Especially late in the year when they really needed him. I would take him late in the first and be totally fine sleeping that night. If I got him early in the second, I would think it’s a steal. He’s going to start right away.”

“He’s clearly a WILL linebacker,” McShay said. “He’s going to play on the weak side. He’s going to have a little more space, and if you do things properly up front, it’s going to allow him to run and chase and pursue, which he does best.

“He plays bigger and tougher than his size, but yeah he’s got shorter than 32-inch arms. He’s under 230. He’ll bulk up. All of these guys take off a little bit of weight in order to run faster. He ran a 4.50.”
Queen ran a 4.56 40-yard dash in his first attempt at the NFL Combine but pulled a hamstring on his second attempt which ended his night.

He actually ran 4.56 on his first attempt and then a 4.50 on his second attempt before pulling up limp at the end of his run with a pulled hamstring.

There isn’t a better LB at covering a RB out of the backfield or spying a RB or QB. In today’s game, that skillset is invaluable - having to defend the likes of McCaffrey, Kamara, CEH, etc.

Another HS RB switched to LB by LSU and become a high draft pick! Best of luck to him!
