LSU vs. Alabama In Jeopardy As Tigers Deal With Covid Outbreak

UPDATE: LSU-Alabama has been postponed.

The LSU-Alabama game on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium could be in jeopardy as the Tigers are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.

Head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed Monday that LSU is dealing with an outbreak and could have several players out on Saturday. He did not specify who or how many players could miss the game but suggested it includes potential starters.

Brody Miller with The Athletic reports that LSU only has one quarterback, freshman TJ Finley, available to play on Saturday and no tight ends or a long-snapper. Orgeron would not comment Monday when asked if Finley or Max Johnson were available vs. Alabama.

Another report from Ross Dellenger with Sports Illustrated says that the outbreak stems from a Halloween party last weekend.

Discussions between the schools and the SEC on whether to play Saturday's game have already begun, according to several sources.

If the game is not played on Saturday it will likely be canceled since LSU's only other open date (Dec. 12) is already filled with Florida.

I guess I will have to watch 2019 LSU GOAT beatdown of Blama if they cancel COVIDfest 2020 this weekend in Tiger Stadium. I can wait for the Clemson beatdown of Blama in January unless Blama gets COVID the week before.

1 QB, no TE's and other starters out I say we play it anyway. In combat when I was pinned down by the enemy with no hope for a miracle in sight or ear shot I fought on heavily out numbered. Man up LSU and go to battle. Show the nation you are Tigers and you dont back down. Forget all of these whiney people on here wanting the game to be cancelled

I like all the comments on here, This isn't even a real season LOL!! If you were playing well we wouldn't see one post of that fashion. Every team that is playing is having to deal with the same thing. Man up! you were talking all that trash at midfield last year. This is our house!! and all that crap that Coach O was talking in the locker room. Now you can't back it up. Bama had to play with all freshman LB's last year because we had so many hurt players, along with Tua not being 100 pct. Man Up!!!
