Multiple sources are reporting that LSU redshirt freshman tight end Zach Sheffer has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Sheffer, a Ponte Vedra Beach, FL native is LSU's third player to enter the portal this week and the fifth this offseason.

I haven't researched it, but my guess is that this is happening all over, especially with the higher rated recruiting class schools. Too much "I want It now" mentality and not enough "I'm going to win the job" attitude mixed with a shot of entitlement makes for very weak player, in my humble opinion.

Actually, when the 2019 recruiting class reports in for the fall semester LSU will be over the max limit for scholarship players. They must cut the roster down and getting rid of players who haven't shown potential is the best way to do it. In most years LSU didn't have to do this because they had so many drat eligible JR's jump to the NFL.

This is not about the coaching staff or our program. These "kids" are looking at the depth chart and seeing where they fall. I think we all wish they understood the value of competition but many do not. It is sooooooo much easier and safer for them to become a "victim" and quit. They are doing exactly what they were taught to do! I dare say that they are losing out...not us!
