LSU junior running back Derrius Guice has announced that he will forgo his senior year to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Baton Rouge native went public with his decision Wednesday with this video on Twitter:

Guice is expected to be a first-round draft pick in the upcoming draft. He rushed for 1,251 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2017. He added 18 receptions, 124 yards, and two touchdowns through the air.

Guice finished his career with 471 rushes for 3074 yards and 29 rushing touchdowns. He set the LSU single-season yards-per-carry record in 2016 with 7.58 yards per carry.

He joins underclassmen Arden Key, Kevin Toliver, Toby Weathersby, and Donte Jackson who have announced they're leaving early for the NFL draft.

His dad would be proud... I hope I have a son that turns out to have half the focus, drive, and morals that DG has. Thanks for your hard work and for doing it right, DG. I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish at the next level. Make us proud!

Smart move, as much as I would have loved to see you represent LSU another year the RB position is a rough one. No use taking that abuse for another year for free, get your money while you're young and can take the hits. Best of luck to you. You're a top 3 Tiger in my books and I'll never forget the intensity you always played with. Looking forward to seeing you dominate on Sundays!

You can't blame him. He is going to be a high draft pick. In a year where there aren't many standout runningbacks in the draft. He made the right choice. Good luck to him, and thanks to him for all he has done for LSU.

He will be drafted before both Sony Michel and nick chubb guaranteed. He is a better back than both of them and, therefore, should be drafted higher. Good luck DG, I know you will he a great ambassador for LSU and represent this state and our football program in the nfl. I just hope he lands at good franchise.

LOL, everyone knew he'd leave. Any NFL caliber RB should after three years, but the fact that he did it 30 seconds after Ensminger was named OC is a pretty clear signal.

Thanks for being a Tiger. He is no doubt making the right financial decision. I do hope he comes back in the off season to get that degree. It is definitely worth it and something he will be grateful he completed.

He has earned every penny he is about to make. Both in College and before. Happy for him. I have a feeling he is going to represent LSU very well for a long time.
