Following Tuesday's win over UCF in the Fiesta Bowl, LSU linebacker Devin White was asked about if the game was one of their most physical matchups of the season.

White had a funny reaction to the question and went on to say that UCF's style of play wouldn't work in the SEC.

They are a talented team, and would make a great game opponent to play two weeks before Alabama. A challenge, not a creampuff team that would inflate players' egos, but enough of a challenge that the coaches have to have a game plan, the players have to play hard and the opponents not be too physical and beat up the players like they would in an SEC game.

UCF can get emotionally high to play 1 SEC team in a bowl game after a month to prepare and look fairly good..but the weekly grind in conference play would expose them quickly.

I'd still trade Missouri for them

They would do better than 7-6 but not better than 9-4. They have a good solid team that could give teams fits the last two years. The key factor in the game was what LSU’s linemen did to UCF’s linemen. LSU’s has not been great all year. If they thought that was tough just think if they played against Alabama what that would look like.

Easier to just say 8-5?

The absolute ceiling for UCF in the SEC would be like South Carolina was this year. 4th or 5th in the East, 7-6 overall record. That’s the ceiling

White is 100% correct. UCF would get pulverized with an SEC schedule.

I'd love to see UCF schedule just 3 SEC west schools to see what happens. LSU/A&M/State. I'll bet money they 0-3.

But schedule them all in a row like everyone else has to do.

Milton would make some difference, but against teams with mid to good level defenses in the SEC, they would struggle. UF, LSU, BAMA, UGA, AU, TAMU all of those team would be problems for them.

He's right you know. We shut them down with a shadow of the defense we ran out on the field for the majority of the year. Hats off to the coaching staff for game preparation in this one.

C'mon. LSU fan here, but shut them down?

They averaged 43.2 pts/game and we gave them 25. They averaged 523 total yds/game and we gave up 255. I'd say we did a pretty good job of shutting them down with a patchwork defense.
