Multiple sources are reporting that Purdue transfer quarterback Danny Etling will visit LSU this weekend.

Etling, a former four-star prospect from Terre Haute, IN, played as a freshman and sophomore at Purdue. LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron is also from Terre Haute and is familiar with Etling.

As freshman at Purdue, Etling started seven games and passed for 1,690 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In the five games he started his sophomore year, he threw for 800 yards and six touchdowns.

Etling will need to sit out next year due to transfer rules but will be eligible in 2016.

Imagine that. A pro-style QB for a pro-style offense....

Etling >>>> Rob Bolden

Only bad part is he has to redshirt and we have Philipe Franks coming in next year.

Can he complete more than 25% of his passes and can he grasp the concept of a 7 yard pass or 3rd down 4x a game? If the answer is yes to either of these, then he is an improvement.

At this point we just need another warm body at QB!! If Jennings is gone we will be razor thin.

If he can throw the ball and read defenses, sign him up! Could care less if he can run fast. Just distribute the ball to our WR's, TE's and RB's. With all the talent at those positions, the last thing LSU needs is a running QB that can't do anything at an SEC Championship level except speedily move his feet and legs forward. Etling, Franks and Harris in 16. Justin McMilan and Caleb Lewis for insurance and practice squad......

So he couldn't keep the starting job at Purdue? That's not exactly terrific.

Hopefully he will be smart and play smart as well..Its all we needed to win big last year and the previous year. Would be nice to have someone to have a working knowledge of the playbook as well.

Dude looks like Drew Brees in the above picture.

I'd take him just based on that.
