The list of LSU players done for the season because of injuries grew by four this week.

On Monday, Ed Orgeron announced that wide receiver Kayshon Boutte would be out for the season after suffering an injury vs. Kentucky.

On Wednesday, Orgeron revealed that cornerback Eli Ricks is having a procedure done to fix a nagging injury and will miss the remainder of the season.

Today, it was confirmed that defensive end Ali Gaye will also need season-ending surgery.

During Thursday's post-practice press conference, Orgeron announced that defensive tackle Joe Evans will likely be done for the season as well.

Gaye and Evans are the third defensive linemen to go down for the season after the Tigers lost team leader Andre Anthony to an injury vs. Central Michigan.

Here's what LSU defensive line rotation will look like going forward, according to Orgeron:

I’m convinced these dudes are just quitting. There isn’t this many injuries in a week

The players quit last year. If anybody thinks the only problem at LSU coaches then they are naive. This team was full of problem children and the truth is they were recruited by Orgeron. So the buck stops there.

100% agree. Full of quitters and excuse making cry babies!

Who recruited these players? Also who’s job is it to coach these players they are recruited and to break bad habits? Truth is it is 100% in the coaches. Do you think if LSU was winning and ranked in top 15 that they would be quitting?

Injuries are part of the game. However, most players wait until the offseason to address possible surgery and/or physical therapy. These guys are just quitting.

Didn't realize NIL would make the players so injury prone...

He didn't say Joe Evans had an injury. He said he's out for the year.

Someone said in a thread the other day Joe Evans was leaving team to pursue a singing career. I have no idea if that is true.

There is something really wrong with the type of player LSU has recruited with Orgeron. He’s been selling nflsu and when some adversity hits, players quite to save themselves. I know we have exceptions on the team, but IDK guys, how many 4 and 5 stars at Kentucky? How many at Arkansas? How many at Ole Miss? Hell, how many at Florida? Maybe it’s time we get a coach who focuses on the individuals character and toughness, rather than their ranking. Seems to work elsewhere. Let the gentile, high rank players go elsewhere.

Seems players can opt out one way or the other -- injury can be just as good of an excuse as any. The IR numbers are racking up on the starting Tigers - Myles, Stingley, Ricks, Boute, Gaye, Evans, Anthony. Seems if you're teams not competitive, the easiest way to preserve your value (NFL) is to use the injury to get ready for draft day. This may be good for them, but not good for Coach O.

It lowers their value too because they’re now seen as quitters, chase is the only one who can get away with it bc his numbers. These guys don’t have that

Canebreak, don't know ya, but I believe you are right on target...this mentality (3 and done ) kinda started w Miles and has progressed...it will only get worse unless the right players are recruited. The 4 & 5 star rankings miss a few things...like this is a team sport...
