Matt Pendleton-USA TODAY Sports
The LSU Coaching staff extended an offer to Rhode Island safety Antonio Carter on Tuesday as they continue to look for depth in the defensive backfield.

Carter entered the portal in April as a grad transfer with two years of eligibility remaining. He has already received offers from schools like Notre Dame, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and many others.

The Orlando, Fla. native started in 22 games over the last two seasons.

He registered 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, one interception, and ten pass breakups this past season.

Well this is an “LSU Offer” and that changes everything. That offer stops guys in their tracks and makes them recalculate their decisions. This isn’t just your typical offer, from like A&M or Florida. It’s an “LSU Offer” completely different! It’s a game changer really! When football royalty calls, you pick up period. Just give it a few days. We’ll see where he’s bound to.

He has several other P5 offers, including ND, A&M, and Ole Miss. Just wanted to point that out.
