LSU defensive end Justin Thomas has left the team, head coach Ed Orgeron announced Tuesday.

Thomas recently rejoined the team in February after withdrawing from school in October due to personal reasons.

The Daphne, Alabama native played in five games last season with one start.

Last year we had the best offense in the nation by leaps and bounds; from the players through the coaching staff hands down; this year i'm here to tell you we will have the best defense in the nation

To Austin below: yeah dude uh NO....key word from your post: "a game" as in 1 game....you obviously do not yet understand the talent level of the newcomers....when a 5 star beast from last year (marcel brooks) does not even have a starting position sowed up, its the most talent rich defensive roster in the nation hands down

To keitron1 above: He wasn’t a member of the team after Mid-October, and at the time of his removal

At the time of his removal, he was one of the few players we had generating a pass rush, so it’s very likely he could have started multiple more games of the following *8* he missed. Not to mention, he’s a true 4-3 defensive end, as we make that transition

it could be we have so much talent now they realized they weren't going to see the field this year even if they had stayed

Yeah no dude just has some issues and maybe it was time to move on. I mean the dude started a game last year so he was going to see playin time if he would have held his shite together.

So both players from Alabama out. Thomas and Farrell. Neither heavily recruited. Thought they could be developed.

Most Alabama players we have gotten recently have been ridiculously disappointing for different reasons. Farrell, Thomas, Provens, Parrish, and McCallum have all left for various reasons.
