Multiple sources are reporting that LSU junior defensive back Mannie Netherly has entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal, making him the fourth LSU defender to do so this offseason.

Netherly originally committed to LSU in 2017 as a four-star wide receiver from Crosby, TX but quickly transitioned to the secondary during his freshman season.

He appeared in 11 games in 2018 as the third team cornerback and recorded three total tackles.

Man I was really hoping he made it as a CB because you don't find to many 6'3" CB's, he had the same height as Greedy Williams maybe not the same skill set but I was hoping he was good enough to play for us. Good luck Mannie I hope you land anywhere except the SEC.

This is what’s sad about college football guys and I understand it’s all about getting under the 85 schollie limit but as someone mentioned in an earlier thread if the amount of players per year is 25 then the limit should be 100 or just make it 20 per class and make the limit 80 or keep the limit 85 make the class limit 20 and leave the remaining 5 for transfers walk-ons etc....These kids who had dreams of playing at LSU are now being told they have to go elsewhere.. It’s simple math

Can’t blame a talented kid for wanting a shot to get on the field. Best of luck.
