Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE – Jayden Daniels, a three-year starter at quarterback for Arizona State, is transferring to LSU, head coach Brian Kelly announced on Sunday.

Daniels helped the Sun Devils to an 18-12 mark and two bowl appearances in his three seasons at Arizona State. Daniels joins the Tigers after passing for over 6,000 yards and 32 touchdowns in 30 games at Arizona State. He added 1,288 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns in becoming one of the best all-around players in the Pac-12 over the past three years.

“Jayden is an outstanding player who will make our quarterback room even stronger,” Kelly said. “He’s a playmaker with a strong arm and the ability to make plays with his feet. We are excited to welcome Jayden to our program as we continue to build a roster of student-athletes who will compete for championships on the field and work just as hard in the classroom to earn their degree.”

Daniels, a native of San Bernardino, Calif., led Arizona State to an 8-5 mark and an appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl in 2021. He threw for 2,380 yards and 10 touchdowns and added another 710 yards and six scores on the ground. He led the Pac-12 in completion percentage at 65.4 as he connected on 197-of-301 passes.

In 2019, Daniels became the first true freshman quarterback in Arizona State history to start a season-opener for the Sun Devils. He capped his rookie season throwing for 2,943 yards, 17 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He added 355 rushing yards and three TDs in leading Arizona State to an 8-5 mark and win over Florida State in the Sun Bowl.

Arizona State played just four games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, going 2-2. Daniels threw for 701 yards and five touchdowns to go with 223 rushing yards and four scores.

Jayden knows helmets. Imo, ASU and LSU have the two flashiest designs in all of CFB, and 3rd place (whoever that is) aint close.

I just don't see how this is going to work. Both he and Brennan only have one year left of eligibility. I don't think Brennan stays unless BK assured him it was his job to lose. So what did he tell Daniels? Seems somebody got lied to. I guess will find out who that was in the fall...

Jayden has 2 years of eligibility left. His COBID year doesn’t count. I can see Brennan starting with Jayden and as a dual threat situational option. He still has 2023.

Thinking Brennan is the insurance policy. He'll either need to ride the bench or ride the portal.

Yeah because Brennan hasn’t played in two years. He missed 20 straight games yet somehow some on this board seem to think Brennan is locked in and won’t be an injury risk even though all it took was a pair of flip flops to take him out for the tear in 2021.

I’m happy for LSU but kinda feel MB got the shaft. Still the perfect replacement for BJ.

I really hope they didn't tell whether that the job is theirs. Need a competition. If it's legit and best man wins then this is perfect
