Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry reacted Friday to the latest court ruling in LSU's ongoing eligibility battle with the SEC and NCAA.

Landry celebrated the ruling in favor of the athletes and once again pushed back on the characterization that LSU is attempting to bring established professional football players back to the college level.

Here's what Landry said:
quote:

“The court has ruled in favor of the athletes! Again, they are not professional football players circling back after years in the NFL. They are college players who were told, by the NCAA, that they were done. So they took the only door that was open, only to watch the NCAA change the lock behind them.

“I am sure these athletes are relieved and anxious to get back in the game! Let’s spot the ball! #GeauxTigers”

What an awesome one sentence explanation and analogy by the Governor about the door and a lock. Well played. Now let's go play some football.

Why do people always "chime in"?
No one "comments" anymore?

The governor needs to worry more about decreasing our home and auto insurance premiums.

If Commissioner Temple did his job, the rates could come down significantly. He’s too busy taking campaign donations from insurance companies though.

It's a good summation of the argument. Apparently that was too complex for Sankey to understand.
