New LSU center Liam Shanahan spoke to the media on Tuesday during a virtual press conference and talked about Saturday's loss to Mississippi State in the season opener.

Shanahan, a grad transfer from Harvard, said that everyone was hurting after the loss but it's a wakeup call for the team.

He also said that some of the criticism towards quarterback Myles Brennan is unfair and that the offensive line needs to make it easier for Brennan.

He needs to block better, we’re all very disappointed in his blocking too.

GIVE HIM TIME GUYs....come on ---One game in covid year and your ready to drag him off the field --I am glad you guys are not coaches but Tuesday arm chair QB WITH rewindable TVs. Miles will come around---reading defense takes time... Jalen Hurts stepped in with a loaded team--Brennan did not. Do not forget Joe Burrow only had one 300 yd passing game in all of 2018. Brennan opens up with 346 yds and 34 points... I think the issue is NOT MILES. LSU VS RICE 2018 was a 307yd passing

Protection was not always the problem. Even when he had time he is no different than many previous LSU quarterbacks. He held the ball too long and waited until the receiver was open and by then it was too late.

The O line didn’t have to take up for Burrow with the fans and media. That’s all you need to know about Brennan. He choked.

OL did their jobs, Brennan really didnt. The OL gave him the most time as compared to other QBs around the SEC. Its not their fault he got sacked so many times because he didnt get rid of the ball

Maybe you were "daydranking" too much Saturday. There's plenty of blame to go around.

34 points should be enough to beat MSU. I'm more worried about the defense. But Brennan looked nervous and unsure of himself. Some of those sacks were a result of him not trusting his receivers and his own skills. Too many times we watched him double-clutch then pull it down and scramble. He HAS to pull the trigger on time.

Why do people say this like these kids are just throwing this out on twitter? They are getting asked these questions and responding to them. How about if you don't want to hear it or read it, then just don't?

If you don't like what I say, don't read it, einstein.

2.3 million per year for Coach Pelini so he needs to right the ship too

Seriously... there are MIT physics PHD's making 75k a year. I, literally, have one as a roommate. Is Bo worth 30 MIT PHD physics? Yea, yea, I know different things, but still. Money is money.

That loss was 100% on the defense. But because of Pelini.

If an MIT wants to make 2.3 million a year, then they should have gone into a field that pays that. No, I am not saying Bo is worth it. I’ll just he about 7 or 8 games in.
