LSU head coach Les Miles and a few players, including Leonard Fournette, took to Twitter on Monday night to react to the news that Fournette was not a Heisman Trophy finalist:

Has identical numbers as Henry, same conference, same division, yet LF7 gets nothing.

You can't blame #7...... Game plan and team execution for Bama, Ark & Ole Miss cost this wonderful man/Tiger our 2nd Heisman winner at LSU

It's like the media/voters place 90% emphasis on the 3 losses and have short term memory loss on the 8 wins. LF is still the same back media were salivating over in October, team/coaches let him down on those 3 losses. Will love to revist this in 5 years to see who is having a better career, Fournette or Henry. My money is on 7.

Funny how the offensive line is silent. They know its their fault he isn't going to win it.

Les Miles (thumb tagging offense)in part I agree, Harris (missing throws)in part also, wr's (dropping passes) also. O line missing blocks and picking up blitzes..
I cannot agree with totally dumping on Les with this. 'It is what it is' a team
effort. I will hold up and wait for our bowl game ____GAME PLAN with EXECUTION

Its ironic but true, we need to be a much better passing team if we are going to win the Heisman next year.

The problem with the award, your team basically have to be in the top 10 top 15 best to win this individual award. Can't tell me the best player has never been on a team not contending for a title.

I feel bad for LF7. With Les's impotent offensive scheme, every team put 27 men in the box. Even Barry Sanders couldn't run against that.

The award has clearly become one in which a player must perform well in the last 3-5 games of the season, including a conference championship. Remember the Honey Badgers run a few years ago? Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way for LF7 this year. My take, the schedule next year looks favorable for LSU, with many of our opponents losing key players. I see a much more balanced outcome for the Tigers in 2016. LF7 will get another chance to shine!!!

Wow. LF7's team let him down, from the coaching to the QB, receivers, and Oline. The FB's can't do much about being hurt. I think this is more on the coaching for lack of imagination and adjustment, especially when the tools to run the preferred offense were broken(FB).

Buga, we love you and think you deserve to be there. Show them all what they're missing... 300+ vs TT.

"Even Barry Sanders couldn't run against that"

Barry Sanders retired early because of that.

Fournette gives the game ball to his fullback when he wins it. He does this to single out a player other than himself and also reinforce this is a singular award, but for a team effort. The "team" effort let down Leonard. The manner in which he was shut down in those three games was as demonstrative as the way he tossed players aside against lesser defenses earlier in the season. This said as much if not more about the opponents who the yards were gained against.

Henry is also a Junior and Fournette a Sophomore. While that shouldn't matter, the likelihood of only Fournette being there [of the two] next year is of significance to the voters. He will have his day in the sun. Just needs to wait a year.

It's because our passing attack was so good that we hardly ever gave him the ball.

Funny to see Les calling it a snub when he's entirely responsible for it with his game planning the last 4 weeks of the season.
