LSU kicker Trent Domingue announced on social media Wednesday night that he will be leaving the football program after his scholarship was not renewed.

Domingue, who was named to the Lou Groza Award watch list last week, will now head to another school to play his final year of college football.

Domingue made 13 of 17 field goal attempts last season and 49 of 50 extra-points. Backup kicker Colby Delahoussaye did not appear in a game in 2015.

Behind Delahoussaye is freshman Connor Culp who signed with the Tigers this past offseason.

LSU also has a really good place kicker-punter from Catholic HS Jack or Jake Gonsolin (sp.) Who is competing as well. They will be okay in the kicking Dept.

I went to high school with Trent so this is sad news. LSU will be losing a great kicker and a great teammate.

Colby Delahoussaye was superb in 2015 until he pulled his groin late in the season. It sucks to lose Domingue, but LSU will be in good hands.

Trent earned his degree in the Spring. I'm sure that was part of the decision.
