Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson was on The Herd w/ Colin Cowherd this Tuesday and talked about the difference between his current quarterback Kirk Cousins and his former teammate Joe Burrow. Per The Spun:
quote:

“Kirk and Joe throw similar balls,” Jefferson said. “They’re not the strongest arms, but they’re going to get it to you exactly where you need them to throw it. The thing about Joe that’s a little bit different—I feel like Joe has a little bit more swagger. He has that confidence on the field and he’s not scared to get hit. I feel like as a quarterback, that’s a big trait to have, especially to be as young as he is. He’s a phenomenal quarterback.”

I wouldn’t complain about my QB who put 1400 yards in my hands. He should have said it a little differently when asked. The media loves trapping you so they can get that controversy.

Who is Kirk Cousins? Sounds like a small-circuit rastler.

See, this cracks me up. People really don’t want the truth when they ask questions like this. They demand fluff, and so they get fluff instead of truth. Jefferson said absolutely nothing wrong here. He was just being honest. If that offends Kirk, or anyone else for that matter, use it as fuel to get to work on it. Be a big person, don’t take it as a personal attack, but rather recognize you’re not a finished product as a QB and can improve on things in all aspects of your life, especially in your profession, and work hard to attain it.

So he answers a question honestly, says absolutely nothing wrong, and it's "controversial"? Who are we and where are we going?

He didn’t say Kirk doesn’t have any swagger, just that Joe had a little bit more... which anyone with half a brain can see for themselves. Media sucks again.

Love Jefferson, but he threw his QB under the bus here. Don't think he meant to intentionally and he will get better with the media as time goes on.

No he did not. He stated an opinion and said the truth. If Cousins is so fragile that a comment by Justin Jefferson has a negative effect on him then he doesn’t belong in the NFL anyway.

Edited words for a headliner. He spoke truth about Joe. Everyone goes there who plays with Joe. Great kid. Funny that Lsu was his only real major offer. I remember the quote about him coming in as a skinny 3 star senior n HS, and he was schooling Dbs at Lsu n summer camps.

I love his honesty especially about Joe, but he definitely didn't give Cousins much props.

Reason Cousins has just been very good but not great is because these comments will not upset or motivate him. Doesn’t make him bad person but keeps him an average QB
